Meat Stew with Tofu (Niku Tofu)

If you have no time to prepare a meal but want to eat Japanese food, you might consider trying this recipe. Cooking time is only about 15 mins! Ingredients (for 2 – 3 servings) 200 g thinly sliced pork or beef 200 g Shirataki (Konnyaku noodles) 1 tub tofu 1 onion 50 mL soy sauce : (A) 50 mL mirin : (A) 50 mL Sake : (A) 50 mL water : (A) Instructions Cut the onion into wedges. Kenchin Jiru (Vegan Soup, けんちん汁)

Kenchin-jiru is a sort of Buddhist cuisine, Japanese vegetarian or vegan cuisine based on Buddhism. It’s soy flavoured Kombu kelp-based soup with many vegetables for ingredients including root vegetables. Basically, no animal-derived foods are used in this soup. However, some people add chicken or pork. Japanese Tofu Shumai (Japanese style tofu dumplings, 豆腐の和風焼売)

Shumai is originally Chinese cuisine. I arranged it in Japanese style. Taste of tofu and tuna make a subtle flavour. Ingredients Tofu: 150 g Onion: 1/2 (approximately 80 g) Starch: 2 tbsp Canned tuna: 1 Wonton skin: 15 ~ 20 Dashi powder: 1 tsp Miso: 1/2 tsp Starch: 2 ~ 3 tbsp Edamame (for topping): 12 ~ 15 beans Edamame (for filling): 30 g (including pods) Instructions Drain the excess water from tofu. Scrambled Tofu (Iridofu, 炒り豆腐)

Want to save cooking time? Then you may consider cooking scrambled tofu. Try it with some freshly cooked rice! Tofu Warabi-mochi (豆腐わらび餅)

Do you know that we can make warabimochi easily? Less than 10 minutes to cook! Easy to follow! Tofu makes warabimochi even healthier. I’m sure this recipe will help your relaxing tea time.
