Meat Stew with Tofu (Niku Tofu)

If you have no time to prepare a meal but want to eat Japanese food, you might consider trying this recipe. Cooking time is only about 15 mins! Ingredients (for 2 – 3 servings) 200 g thinly sliced pork or beef 200 g Shirataki (Konnyaku noodles) 1 tub tofu 1 onion 50 mL soy sauce : (A) 50 mL mirin : (A) 50 mL Sake : (A) 50 mL water : (A) Instructions Cut the onion into wedges. Marinated Japanese Horse Mackerel (鯵の南蛮漬け)

Do you like fish and marinated vegetable? I recommend this dish. Any fish is OK. Try your own Marinated fish Japanese style! Ingredients (3~4 servings) 200 g of mackerel (Fillet into 3 pieces) 2 bell peppers (70 g) 1/2 of onion 1/2 of carrot (70 g)  Starch (Adjust to suit your needs.) Simmered pork and potato (Nikujaga, 肉じゃが)

Most of the girls learn how to cook Nikujaga from their mums in Japan. I didn’t though, but I manage to cook this dish… Coz I am Japanese! Pan-Seared Salmon Fillets with Miso Sauce (Chan-Chan Yaki, ちゃんちゃん焼)

Chan-Chan Yaki is a Japanese local food in Hokkaido where I used to live. I used to cook it quite often when I was there. Miso sauce goes well not only with salmon but also with chicken and pork. Oyako Don (親子丼, Chicken and Eggs Bowl)

“Oyako” means “a parent and a kid” in Japanese. Not to mention, Oya = Chicken, Ko = Eggs.
