Egg Soup with Cabbage (Cabbage Kakitamajiru, キャベツのかき卵汁)

Speaking of traditional Japanese soup, probably you imagine Miso soup. I will introduce this easy and quick recipe. You can use beans sprout for ingredients as well. Ingredients (3 servings) Cabbage leaf: 1 (A) Dashi broth: 600 mL (or 600 mL of water and 1 tsp of Dashi powder) (A) Soy sauce: 1/2 tbsp (A) Mirin: 1 tsp Egg: 1 Starch: 1 tsp with 1.5 tbsp of water Instructions Cut a cabbage leaf into bite-size pieces. Steamed Clams with Cabbage (アサリとキャベツの酒蒸し)

Cabbage can be the main dish. The flavour of clams has soaked right in. So delicious. Ingredients (2 servings) Cabbage: 1/2 Clams: 100 g Butter 1 tbsp Cooking sake: 2 tbsp Grated garlic: 1 tbsp Soy sauce: 1/2 tbsp Salt: 2 dashes Black pepper: for taste Cut cabbage leaves into thin strips Instructions Put butter, garlic, cooking sake, cabbage and clams in a frying pan with a lid. Start heating until all the clams open up. Add soy sauce, salt and black pepper and heat them over high heat for about 1~2 minutes. Now your steamed cabbage and clams are ready. いただきます( Itadakimasu)!

Cabbage Menchi-Katsu(キャベツメンチカツ)

Crispy and juicy! Cabbage helps this recipe a little healthier. Ingredients (4 servings) Cabbage: 200 g All-purpose flour: 1 tbsp Minced pork and beef: 200 g Brown onion: 1/2 (chopped) Panko (bread crumble): 1/2 cup Milk: 2 tbsp Egg: 1/2, beaten Salt: adjust to your taste Black pepper: adjust to your taste Panko (bread crumble) All-purpose flour Egg: 1/2, beaten oil for deep frying Instructions Wash cabbage leaves and drain water with kitchen papers. Pan-Seared Salmon Fillets with Miso Sauce (Chan-Chan Yaki, ちゃんちゃん焼)

Chan-Chan Yaki is a Japanese local food in Hokkaido where I used to live. I used to cook it quite often when I was there. Miso sauce goes well not only with salmon but also with chicken and pork.
